Our meet at Awbridge was well attended, with campers enjoying the continuing hot weather and making good use of the shade from the trees and the nature reserve that surround the site. It was an opportunity to head in to Romsey and take in the performances, stalls and sessions at the Beggars Fair, or to stay on site for some music and sessions of our own.
Medstead was a new site for us, but again provided plenty to do, including the steam trains on the Watercress Line and the local brewery, whose product was well sampled!
We shall soon be out again at Fort Widley, overlooking Portsmouth, where we will have a bring and buy sale. I also hear rumours of party games and jelly & ice cream for our chairman’s birthday…I’m sure reports will follow!
The August bank holiday weekend is once again at Fordingbridge in the New Forest. It’s just a short walk in to the town, where the hall for our evening dance is situated – the hall has great acoustics, plus the added fun of missing the pillars as you dance!
At the start of September we’re at another new site, Dummer Down Farm near Basingstoke. We then get on to our Harvest Supper and dance, then the Halloween Party complete with costumes and ghostly supper!
