Well the Easter figures were published in the last newsletter, and very pleasing they were too, an enormous thank you to all concerned.
Since the last newsletter we had a return to the Weyhill Fair site, which had good weather with several visitors attending, and it was especially nice to have two families there. The Fairground Hall is very nice and we will be using it again.
Awbridge was well attended again, and the good weather continued and many people enjoyed the varied music and dance at the Beggars Fair in Romsey.
Later July we had our first meet at Coombe Bisset, just south of Salisbury. The weather was not so good and we believe it was because the schools went on summer holidays then! However, it is a beautiful spot with stunning views from the field and loads of walks around the site. The hall in the village was also very nice so look forward to using it next year, will put in a request for good weather.
We will report on our August meets in the next newsletter.
September sees us at Fort Widley which seems very popular, perhaps because of the views over Portsmouthor the venue itself. Last year many attended a very informative guided tour of the Fort, and if you are interested this year, get in contact with the Stewards or the Secretary to see if it can be arranged again.
Our Harvest Supper meet is at Harris Caravans, a new site to us with the supper at the Village Hall in Liss, which we have used before. We hope to have “Wild Wood” to play for the evening again, so if you are interested, get in touch with Mark to book your food.
Our Halloween meet has also changed location to Ballard School near the New Forest. Again, we encourage fancy dress, and have a parade with prizes for the best. Don’t forget the spooky food for the “Ghostly Supper”.
Hope to see you at any of our meets, as you are always welcome. Good weather and camping to you all.
Mark
