This is a new venture for me writing the Wessex blurb in the Newsletter. I can only say that if I do as good a job as Pam then I will be happy. Stella and I are with the Midland Area at Shipston on Stour as I jot down some ides and enjoying some very fine weather and lovely weekend. Many thanks for the invite
Our previous meet at Furzebrook was not so well attended, but those attending had a very enjoyable weekend thanks to our new Stewards Alice and Roger. We had some very sociable nights in their gazebo, and many went to Wimbourne Folk Festival over the weekend. Awbridge had a good attendance with a good few visitors and many enjoyed the varied music at the Beggar’s Fair in Romsey.
The meet at Scott’s Haven, Soberton Heath is over the same weekend as the open weekend of the Farnham and District Society of Model Engineers. We tried to do this once before and the Model club cancelled the weekend. We believe it is going ahead this year. I will let you know how Soberton, The DeMontford school and St John’s meets got on in the next newsletter.
September we only have our ‘Bring and Buy’ weekend at Fort Widley with it’s stunning views over Portsmouth. Then October our Harvest Supper and dance at Greatham village hall, with Wild Wood providing the music again. If you wish to join us please contact me (Secretary) to book your place. Our last meet in October is the Halloween meet at Blackfield school, with the Fancy dress competition and Ghostly supper. We had some very interesting foods last year, such as ‘Devil’s Blood Jelly’ and many more.
May I wish you all good camping until we meet again.
Mark (Secretary)
