August Bank Holiday Weekend
New Forest Edge Rally Field is half a mile from the lovely town of Fordingbridge with its independent shops, restaurants and cafes.
It is also on the edge of the New Forest and is ideal area for walking or cycling, with plenty of Forest footpaths and cycle paths nearby.
The site opens at 2pm on Friday, and closes on Tuesday. The stewards for this meet are Mark and Stella, who can be contacted by email at info@wessexfdsg.org, or by the Wessex mobile phone on 07340 248 577.

Camping fees for this meet are £10 per night for couples and £9 per night for singles. Payment by credit or debit card is preferred for this meet, but if this is not possible then please bring the correct money for your stay.
What’s on
We are looking forward to gathering on the field over the weekend to play some music, sing a few songs, or simply have a chat and catch up with friends old and new.
Information on activities organised will be available from the stewards when you arrive and throughout the meet.
Folk Music Sessions
We hope to get together and play some folk music on the field (weather permitting) so do please bring your instruments. Players of all abilities are welcome.
Books we will play from include Band Swing and Band Time (Pete Mac), Play in the Band (Barry Moule) and Playford.
Recorder Session
Caroline is planning to hold a recorder session on the field (weather permitting). All recorder players are welcome, even if you haven’t played for a while!

Ceilidh
Our usual ceilidh will be held on Saturday evening, starting at 7:30pm in the Victoria Rooms, which is a short walk from the site.
This is an informal evening of dancing, music, singing and other folk entertainment. Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own refreshments for the evening if you like.

The New Forest
This national park covers vast areas of unspoilt woodland, heathland and river valleys, with deer, ponies and cattle roaming free in its ancient heaths and woodland. Ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding.
Fordingbridge
A small country town on the banks of the River Avon. The Great Bridge, built in medieval times,is a major feature of the town with its seven graceful arches


Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park
Award-winning conservation centre with rare-breed heavy horses, blacksmith displays, petting zoo & vintage trucks.
Fordingbridge Museum
Housed on two floors of an old granary, it provides a fascinating insight into the social history of Fordingbridge over the last 100 to 150 years

- From the North
- From Salisbury take the A338 south.
- At the end of Fordingbridge Bypass turn left towards B3078.
- Almost immediately turn first right (signed Stuckton/Frogham).
- Continue past the bowls club and the site is on the left.
- From the South
- From Ringwood take the A338 north.
- Take the exit to Fordingbridge and turn right at the T junction.
- Turn right opposite the garage and then take the first road on the left.
- Continue past the bowls club and the site is on the left.

Eating out
There are a few pubs, restaurants, cafes and takeaways in Fordingbridge and the surrounding area.
Ringwood (6 miles) has a wide selection of good places to eat.
Transport
Wilts and Dorset bus Route X3 runs from Fordingbridge every 30 minutes to Salisbury, Ringwood and Bournemouth.
