Friday 6th July 2012 3 nights Frogham BBQ Meet This is a quiet site on the edge of the New Forest. It is ideal area for walking or cycling, with plenty of Forest footpaths and cycle paths nearby. The site opens at 2pm on Friday, and closes at 4pm on Monday. Stewards for the weekend are David and Patti, who can be contacted via the Wessex mobile phone on 07939 592 200. Directions: Springfield Farm Abbotswell Road, Frogham, Fordingbridge, SP6 2JA OS Ref: 195/173130 Take the A338 south from Salisbury. At the end of Fordingbridge Bypass turn left towards B3078. Almost immediately turn first right (signed Stuckton/Frogham). Go over narrow stream bridge and cattle bridge. At Stuckton go up the hill past Blissford Hill Road. The site is on left after the Foresters Arms. Find it on Google Maps What's on: Ceilidh Our usual evening of dancing, music, singing and other informal entertainment will be held on Saturday evening in Hyde Parish Village Hall, which is close to the site. You can bring your own refreshments, although tea and coffee is provided in the interval. BBQ We will be having a 'bring your own' communal barbeque on the field (either Saturday or Sunday, to be decided nearer the time). In the area: Welcome to Hyde Website covering the local area Fordingbridge Museum Housed on two floors of an old granary, it provides a fascinating insight into the social history of Fordingbridge over the last 100 to 150 years. Fordingbridge A small country town on the banks of the River Avon. The Great Bridge, built in medieval times, is a major feature of the town with its seven graceful arches.

It serves good food and Ringwood beer, but is a bit expensive. Mind the donkeys which roam wild outside. There are also several restaurants and pubs in Fordingbridge and the surrounding area. Transport There is no public transport close to the site. Wilts and Dorset bus Route X3 runs from Fordingbridge (2 miles) every 30 minutes to Salisbury, Ringwood and Bournemouth.
