Folk Group Spring Gather

Mendip Hills
Camerton is on the edge of the Mendip Hills, with beautiful countryside and good walks on the doorstep. The cities of Bath, Bristol and Wells are also in easy reach.
We camp on the field at Camerton Community Hall, and will have use of the hall for the whole weekend.
The site opens at 2pm on Thursday, and closes at 4pm on Tuesday. The stewards for this meet can be contacted via the Wessex mobile phone on 07939 592 200.

From Radstock take A367 North towards Bath.
After 4½ miles turn left signed 'Tunley'.
Continue for about 3 miles until a sharp right hand bend.
Turn left (i.e. keep straight ahead) and the hall is on the left.

From Bath take A367 South towards Radstock.
After 3½ miles turn right signed 'Tunley', then as above.

Medieval City of Wells A pleasant drive through the Mendip Hills, Wells is the smallest city in England, with a 13th Century Cathedral.

The museum is 3 miles from the site.

Shops

Timsbury is within walking distance (just over ½ mile), shops include a small supermarket Post Office, greengrocer, chemist, etc. There is also a farm shop and cafe just down the road from the hall.

There are large supermarkets in Radstock and Midsomer Norton, both about 3 miles away.

Eating out

The King William Inn at Tunley, just over a mile away (up a steep hill!) is recommended, and they also do takeaways.

The nearest restaurant (just over ¼ mile) is the Bombay King Indian (eat in and takeaway).

There are many other good pubs in the area, and in Timsbury there is a Fish & Chip Shop and tea rooms.

Transport

First Bus Route 179 stops close to the site, and runs to Bath and Midsommer Norton. On the timetable our stop is between Timsbury and Tunley.

There is also a frequent Park & Ride service into the centre of Bath from Odd Down (4 miles from the site).
